Days 2-14 Ultimate Reset Review: Is it working?

Week 1:

Since I started the Ultimate Reset Review, a lot has happened.  The first week was the hardest because there was a lot of fatigue, some cravings (not overpowering), and body/muscle aches even though I wasn’t working out. On my days off, I was sleeping 12 or more hours, and during the week found it difficult to come home and want to prepare dinner. I pushed through it though, and towards the end of the first week started feeling better, less cravings, and not as sluggish when I woke up.

Reading what was happening to others going through the Ultimate Reset at the same time was very helpful. Beachbody has a Portal through Facebook available to Participants where people can post questions, challenges, and their experiences.

What helped me get through this was knowing this was my body’s way of healing. When the body needs time to heal, it’s going to force you to take time out, and that can be fatigue or a cold after a stressful situation. Also, telling people that you’re on this 21-day Reset helps with accountability, and it doesn’t hurt to tell yourself ‘I didn’t spend all this money to have it sit on the counter!” LOL

As far as meals, this first week weans you off of meat and dairy. I have done detoxes in the past, and knew not to go into it eating lots of red meat, cream sauces, and pastas. I was already down to fish and chicken, grains, fruits & veggies by the time I started.

Week 2:

Week 2 almost flew by. Weight-wise I’m down over 5 pounds. I started being more proactive by looking ahead at the next couple of day’s meals, and deciding how and when I could prepare them. One day I was leading a Fit Club workout group and didn’t have time to come home and prepare a squash that took 1 hour to bake so I cooked it the night before. It tasted great reheated, and the day after in a soup! Meals are now down to grains, veggies, and fruit, and I’m not missing meat and dairy craving-wise; however, I do occasionally think about how nice it would taste.

In this second week, The Release Phase, a Detox drink was added in addition to the other supplements. This drink was taken three times a day, and pulled toxins from the body to be eliminated in the waste. Continuing to drink the recommended amount of water helped to flush these out, which by the way, increased in volume and a lighter consistency. Cravings have been eliminated; however, I had to go through a holiday watching others eat some really tasty foods.

I’m waking up more focused and alert, but not as much as I want. I still get sleepy at times, and easily tire walking up stairs. I’m doing Tai Cheng during this Reset, and it’s the perfect complement workout. You can also walk or perform light yoga, but no heavy duty workouts while the body is trying to heal.

 Is It Working?

As part of this Ultimate Reset Review, I have to say it is working exactly as designed.  Cravings are gone, weaned off meat, dairy, and grains, eliminations have increased, weight is down, focus is up, and better overall perspective. I also like that this diet has made me try new foods and recipes, and confirmed how much better I feel without a lot of meat, dairy, and wheat. I can’t wait for Phase 3 to Restore the body to balance. I’m looking forward to even more focus and energy, and also need to start thinking about how to transition back. Will I maintain a vegetarian or quasi-vegetarian lifestyle, or return to the land of the Meatasaurus’. Stay tuned to see how it turns out!
